Friends' Memorial Public Library is a member of the One Screen McKean online catalog.
In January of 1980, the intown branch of the Kane Public School Library was opened in a very small room in a church on Tuesdays from 10:00 to 3:00. Four years later marked the renaming and relocation of the library. The newly named Friends Memorial Library of Kane would be moved to the Penn Kane Hotel. 1988 was the year that Friends Memorial Library became part of the Pennsylvania Library System and added "Public" to our name. In January of 1989, our current building was purchased and the library quickly relocated all materials to open on February 28th of that year!
